ABOUT ME
Hey there! I am Gracie Martin and I am a Senior Fashion Merchandising student at Georgia Southern University. As I am nearing the end of my college career, I will be receiving a Bachelor of Science from the Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design department. Coming into college I was determined to be a nurse, but quickly discovered that the nursing profession was not for me, and I am meant to practice a profession that suits my personality and interests. I am an exceptionally creative and spunky woman who enjoys all things fashion and beauty. As a young girl, my cousin and I would draw wedding cakes and beautiful ball gowns while others would play doctor or teacher. This is what made me look into the fashion department. I needed to find something that would satisfy those dreams I didn’t know were dreams at the time. I decided to go out on a limb and change my major to Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design with an emphasis in Merchandising. Through my three and half years at Georgia Southern not only did I learn everything necessary to succeed in the fashion industry, I discovered myself. The fashion profession is one of few where expressing yourself through your work displays your determination and creativity. Making fashion your own is the best way to grow and create a name for yourself in the industry. Between the fashion courses I have taken and experiences I have obtained I can ensure a positive change and growth in the industry. My experiences include working as a wholesale sales representative with GIGIO USA, a wholesale retail brand based out of Los Angeles.This position has given me the opportunity to put my knowledge of the industry to practice, and has gained me the title of Senior Sales Representative. This experience has exponentially strengthened my leadership and customer service skills. It is safe to say that I have found my niche. I love everything about the fashion industry and I am determined to grow and create positive impacts for the next generation of fashion. We are the future of fashion. It is extremely important to me that I create an example for those coming into the industry in order to withhold the superior staggering legacy of Fashion.
